It's been a while since I last added new photos. With limited time due to work and parenting commitments I hadn't managed to get out into the bush as much as I'd have liked. When I finally did manage a trip a subsequent computer upgrade resulted in weeks of lost time trying to resolve issues with buggy hardware via unending and maddening support calls. Even now as I type this I'm awaiting a total PC replacement that hasn't arrived despite further weeks. Heading east along Victoria's coast and up in New South Wales yielded several nice shots. I spent the bulk of the time I had in Wilsons Promontory, hiking around Tidal River along the great beaches, places familiar to me from many a previous trip but still always somehow new and exciting. Wind and a lack of cloud however, plagued much of the trip. Further up the coast I explored Croajingolong National Park for the first time. I can categorically state that Point Hicks is the windiest place I've ever tried to shoot. At one point I had to crawl on my hands and knees just to advance forward a few feet. Shooting from under rock outcrops, with a big umbrella as a wind break and waiting for lulls was the order of the day. A short hike up Genoa Peak was rewarding, with golden light blazing into my lens, and up into NSW I revisited Mimosa Rocks this time really trying to focus on the colourful boulders in the fading twilight. Finally duty dragged me homewards, but not before I managed to grab a nice shot of Melbourne's Yarra River on the way back. My next trip should be sooner rather than later and possibly see me returning to Wilsons Prom to work on "the ones that got away".
